Step-by-Step Measuring Guide for Shower Panels

By Printed Splashback

Step 1 – Choose how many walls or panels you need

Decide which areas you want to cover. This could be a single wall, two walls in a corner, three walls in an enclosure, or a larger bathroom area.

Step 2 – Measure each panel separately

Measure the width and height of each panel area you need.
Each panel should be entered individually, even if the image will continue across all panels.

Step 3 – Enter the panel sizes

Add the width and height for each panel in millimetres.
Make sure you enter the measurements for each panel in the correct order.

Step 4 – Set the panel order

Panels should be entered from left to right, exactly as they will appear on the wall when installed.

This is important because the system uses that order to:

  • build the full image across all panels
  • create the visual layout
  • show how the design will flow from one panel to the next

Step 5 – Check the live visual preview

Once the sizes are entered, the preview will show the image split across the panels in the order selected.

This helps you see:

  • how the image will be positioned
  • where the joins will fall
  • how the design flows across each panel

Step 6 – Adjust the image position if needed

Use the preview controls to move or scale the image until you are happy with the layout across the panels.

This is especially useful for:

  • centred features
  • avoiding important parts of the image falling on a join
  • making sure the design looks balanced

Step 7 – Allow for trimming on site

Our 3mm aluminium composite panels can be cut on site using standard power tools, so they can be trimmed during fitting if required.

This is useful for:

  • shower trays
  • baths
  • sloping ceilings
  • boxed pipework
  • uneven walls

Step 8 – Check maximum panel sizes

The maximum panel size is:

  • 1600mm wide
  • 2500mm high

If your wall is larger than this, it will need to be split into two or more panels.

Step 9 – Double-check everything before ordering

Before placing the order, check:

  • panel sizes are correct
  • panels are entered in the right order
  • the preview looks right
  • the image position is where you want it

Step 10 – Send us a sketch if you need help

If you are unsure about panel sizes or order, send us a quick sketch of the layout and measurements and we can help check it before production.
